Abacus Online February 2002
Confused by Technology?
EVERY business can benefit from using new technology but which bit is right for you?
From mobile phones to computers and the Internet, the way businesses operate has changed dramatically over the last ten years and it shows no sign of slowing.
Most small businesses now have a web site and, in the light of current economic circumstances, keeping up with the latest Internet technology may not be at the top of your agenda. There are many stories of expensive failures on the Internet. A recent Government paper pointed out that cost and the fear of fraud were two of the main barriers for small businesses thinking of "going on-line". The Internet investment bubble may have burst but the Internet is increasingly important and many small businesses are still implementing successful e-business web sites.
NUNN HAYWARD has joined with technology providers IAL to help you find out if the INTERNET can produce real results for your business.
We ask the question:
Is e-business right for you?
. . .and offer a straight forward explanation aimed at businesses who already have a web site but would like to know if e-business really can help them.
We have some highly experienced Internet professionals who are used to working with small businesses who will speak about using the Internet, and answer your questions.
If you have a web site, how can you assess if it is working effectively? What does e-business offer and will it help you? How safe is e-business, what are the risks of fraud? How do you link your web site to your bank and take real money? Should you sell products from the site? How do you go about building an on-line shop? How will on-line shopping affect your existing business? How do you get your new web site noticed? Are search engines useful to your business? How much does it all cost?
Web sites are all about you telling your customers and potential customers what you have to offer. E-business is all about letting them tell you what they want and, with e-commerce, actually taking real orders and getting paid.
